q6600 / xeon x3220 owners...

I'm wondering if I can reduce some heat output of these things....going for quiet+powerful rather than raw speed.


what are the chances I can drop the volts a bit and still run stable at stock?

also - do the xeon quads typically run cooler? thought I'd read that somewhere, but can't find any real evidence of it

The Core 2 Quad can be undervolted and stay stable at stock speed. I'm not too sure about the Quad Xeon though.

so in terms of TDP, how much are we talking here? the xeons and q6600 are 105w parts....could heat output drop significantly?
