OK....we've got both a Q6600 and an E8400.
The Q6600 is a known good OC'er, having achieved 4GHz on 1.5V and can run 3.6GHz all day long on 1.34V. (Batch is L745 with a VID of 1.275v.)
4GHz run on the Q6600.......CPU-Z.
The E8400 is an unknown quantity as it's never been plugged into a motherboard at all. (Batch is Q813A131.)
One has to go, one stays.
We don't video edit at all.....we do game but more of the strategy, turn based type game...no FSP's.
Rig consists of ASUS Maximus Formula mb, 4 x 2GB Mushkin Redline DDR2 RAM, Radeon HD4850 video card, and the usual assortment of hard drives, opticals, etc. The system is watercooled, if that makes any difference.
