Q6600 problems

I just got a q6600 from fry's in the combo deal and am having some problems with coretemp and speedfan

I when I run coretemp I can get it open but it refuses to display any temps all other info is good and speed fan just freezes when I open it. When I run tat I can get it to display 2 cores but that is it.

I am running
EVGA 680i T1
OCZ 2gb ddr2 800
tuniq tower
xp home

I was wondering is there some patch that xp home needs or something along those lines.

P.S. Speed fan and Core Temp are up to date

thanks for the tips. I fixed the problem. It turned out to be that two of the cores were automatically disabled in the bios and I just had to turn them on. Know I just got to get my temps level across both dies and maybe lap the hs and maybe the ihs since I got some pretty funky numbers for a tuniq tower.

Wow just noticed your problem, I had the exact same thing happen to me on the frys bundle!! After the cmos reset ive gotten it up to 3.2 on stock voltage with 4 gigs of ram on the evga 680i so far. I am starting to wonder if its the ram that is holding me back, I may redo the the northbridge TIM as well since ive heard that can lower your temps alot and fix some instability issues with this motherboard.

GL with your quad, I only had to stand in line for 2 hours before open at my frys on black friday for it.

i heard intel TAT is bad. don't use it. use speedfan and offset the coretemps by 15C or simply use Coretemp 0.9.0 to read temps
