The P5K deluxe is almost $100 cdn more than a plain P5K. Does it have more bios options for voltage tweaking needed for overclocking the q6600?

I'll be happy if it can do 3.0ghz.

Not necessarily. But the Deluxe version helps because it comes with a bios option to stablilize vcore droop from idle to full load.

Again, overclocking is all luck of the draw with processors and motherboards.

If you're happy with 3.0GHZ I'm sure you can get at least that far with a Q6600 and a P5K.

It has other features though, better SATA controllers, better onboard audio, better cooling. But if you're happy with the features of the vanilla P5K by all means buy it.

I have the P5k-E/wi-fi which is similar to P5K Deluxe but with slightly less features and heatpipes. Priced between a P5K and a P5K Deluxe. you may want to consider this as an option. I also have a q6600 and overclocked to 3Ghz without any problems at all, just make sure you have a good heat sink fan, with the stock one you may get pretty high temps. I use a Thermalright ultra 120 extreme with a scythe S-flex fan and this does a great job.
