Q6600 - Overclocking that easy?

I have read somewhere that you can easily overclock a Q6600 on a P35 board simply by raising the FSB from 1066 to 1333 (making it 3.0GHz versus 2.4GHz) without changing anything else, is it really that easy?

Well it depends on what kind of Memory you are running pc800 or pc1066 I would hope.
But yeah for the most part just raise the FSB from 1066 to 1333 and you should be set.😉
An Aftermarket HS&F wouldnt hurt either.

As far as memory........1333 bus = 333fsb OR DDR2-667. This is at 1:1 ratio when OCd to 1333. Really DDR800/1066 isn't necessary, but it's still a nice touch.

EDIT: you may need to increase the Voltages on the mobo also when you OC.

Aside from the heat, yeah. Run your memory at 1:1 (667 final), stock voltage (or lower to save power, if you can) and a 333MHz fsb gets you 3GHz easily.

Nothing is guaranteed but it should work.
