Q6600 Overclock problem

Alright, well over a month ago i overclocked my Q6600 to 3.5 ghz, ran prime with it to check for problems and nothing showed up. Today i was playing a game and my computer randomly crashed, when i rebooted it reset my CPU to default. What would have cause this problem? i know heat is not an issue as i have monitored that many times and it never goes over 55C. Im wondering if its worth overclocking it again or am i gonna run into the same problem
