Hello I am a bit new to overclocking, I have read several articles and tutorials concerning overclocking my q6600. Recently I OC'd my processor to 3.0ghz just for a trial, it loaded up to windows and everything seems fine. However when I first booted it and checked the voltage it seemed a bit high, it stayed at around 1.35, so I manually changed the voltage limit in bios to 1.28 and it stays at around 1.26 now. With that being said, I have attempted several stress tests with the prime number program, assigning 2 cores to each instance of it running, I ran 2 of the program at once, and it always seems that my core 3 just shuts down and creates an error within 20 seconds. Also ever since I updated my bios version it seems the hardware monitor i use to verify core temps has increased....my cores sit at about 115 F for core 1 around 111 F for core 2 and the 3rd and 4th sit at around 105 F at idle, then jump up about 20 degrees each under load, im wondering if there seems to be something wrong with my processor or maybe its just a user error with assembly? Possibly with the liquid gel for the heatsink.
