Q6600 i love thee so....

overclocked for the last many many months from 2.4 to 3.4ghz running cool,
paired with 4gb of ram of which only 3.2gb xp brings to school,

you can convert my canon 30d 8 megapixel raw files to jpeg in 1 second each,
and take large Tiff and Psd files and apply filters with ease...

god bless you Q6600, i love thee so....

i did back when i got mine when i was in highschool i think. it was a huge upgrade over my duron i was using at the time though which burned up one HOT summer day, and the A64s werent out until a year later, so it was a huge upgrade for me, complete with abit motherboard and 1gb of corsair DDR400. it was one of the 2.8ghz northwoods with HT, got the job done for a good while until i picked up my A64 4000+, mobo, X-fi, and an XP pro OEM at the 06 AMD/MS tech tour for $400. i was lucky enough to SELL the whole rig (with another gig of ram, 2 30gb HDs, and the case) for $400 lmao

I think i'll get one of these for my next upgrade..won't be for a while though. After realizing how much #*$&ing money I spent on upgrades last year alone when it wasn't necessary, I've decided to back off and buy a car instead.

I've heard bad things about the latest G0 Q6600, they don't seem to overclock that good anymore. Is this only a rumor?

Passed on the Q6600 and went with a Q6700 just because. It was at 3.33 for a few months, and then I got adventurous and bumped it up to 3.5. Judging by its VCC voltage, its not a good chip, but you could have fooled me going off of my stable OC. Stock voltages as well, so I don't regret passing on a Q9450 as much as I thought I might.
