ATM, my cart at Zipzoonfly includes the following

ABIT Core 2 Quad Socket 775 1333MHz PC2-6400 (DDR2-800) ATX IP35 Motherboard Retail ***Free Shipping***

Thermaltake Armor LCS VE2000SWA Aluminum Full Tower Case w/Liquid Cooling System (Silver) Retail ***Free Shipping***

Crucial Technology Ballistix BL2KIT12864AA804 2GB kit DDR2-800 PC2-6400 Memory Retail ***Free Shipping*** X2

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Quad-Core Processor 2.4GHz, 1066FSB, LGA775, 8MB cache Retail ***Free Shipping***

As you see, i am getting that case with the watercooling for the CPU. The watercooling part is more to introduce myself to watercooling then hardcore OC across the board. I basically just want to OC the CPU. I was wondering about a few things.

1. Is it possible to OC the CPU conservatively to about 3.3 and the motherboard being safe?

2. Is there a decent guide to help me OC my CPU?

3. Do i even need to worry about lapping the CPU?

4. Is the watercooling going to give my CPU more life (although, i only plan to keep this system for about 1-2 years.

Thanks in advance to all the help i already have received on these forums and anymore I might get in my process of building a new system.

Read the excellent sticky in this forum, here:

Personally I would not waste my money on that WCing setup...

I bet for nearly the same price you could get a very good WCing kit or setup and the case ....you will do much better in the long run as you will be unhappy with the performance

I would consider WCing both cpu and gpu but that is up to you

Cpu setup:
CPU block..either all copper Apogee GTX should be out soon and run $80 or if you need it now...
Dtek Fuzion..$60(they have a nozzle kit to release very soon will run $5...the nozzle in place inside the block and will improve performance(not a must)
Pump: MCP655 $80 or DDC 3.2 with petra's top $100
Rad: best but most expensive are thermochill rad..PA120.3 would be best option..run $135..you can use low flow fan such as Yate Loon SL 47cfm fans
swiftech MCR320 or 220(320 is triple rad and 220 is a dual rad)

go to Pertastechshop..for all inclusive kits that are great and CS is fantastic
http://www.petrastechshop.com/pecoel.html ...add MCW60 and you can cool the gpu as well

questions:
1. you will likely be able to get 3.3Ghz out of a quad core if your psu is up to the task with good cooling..but understand OCing is very YMMV and takes time and effort to get it to work..not just always easy plug n' play

2.no easy guide because every setup is a little different and mobo have different options....just ask nicely and you wil lget a ton of help

3. lapping a cpu is only needed if the IHS is concave and temps are not controlled on cooling...and if you do this you will void any warranty...for a first timer...avoid it unless you are prepared to lose $$....you will not likely kill the cou but many have lapped incorrectly and got worse temps
I have never lapped a cpu but if done right you can get a nice temp drop

4.if your looking for to keep the setup for 1-2yrs any good cooling is fine....wcing will allow for a quieter setup, if you choose the right parts...you cant skimp or you will regret it
WCing often will help your overclocking as well

Well, is there a good WC set that includes Video card and CPU blocks, and maybe even NB and SB?

uhhh...

If you mean kits, there are custom kits. Petrastechshop.com has a few good kits. Dont get there dangerden kit tho. Dangerden has been getting there but kicked by swiftech and d-tek in h2o community so far.

If you want a simple all in one setup, you could get a NEWLS1 external waterkegIII and have seth piece everything for you. However you will need to read the manuals each block comes with on how to install it properly.

My guide also tells you fairly simple on how to setup a watercooling loop. Its helped out a lot of people start getting their feet wet. You may want to try reading it.

But as for parts, Neal did a great job at telling you the basics. Just remember the more blocks you add, the more heat your dumping into the water. The more heat you dump, a better radaitor you're going to need.

I'm also looking at that Paratechsshop.com rig, but do you know of a bezel that could attach to the radiator? I would like to cut the top of my case and flush mount the radiator there, it's plenty deep and the power supply for my computer is at the bottom of the case.
