can a non oc quad core be semi-passively cooled? it will have a side 120mm fan blowing on it from about 1cm

If you have it, try it and find out. If you don't have it, don't buy it. You won't hurt your chip if it runs to hot and shuts down, but if you buy this and it doesn't work worth a damn you probably won't be able to return it.

I guess it could work, but it will give you very high temperatures, so it wouldn't be a good deal. Why don't you use some low rpm fans on the gemeni? It should be silent with them.
