q45m Modtherboard bios problem

hello, so i had a problem with my old motherboard and a friend gave me a q45m foxconn motherboard.on my old motherboard i had my cpu at 3.2 Ghz stable but on this motherboard when i enter the bios go to advanced settings and then cpu configuration i cant change almost nothing from the settings no fsb no multiplier no vcore so i cant over clock at all, almost all settings are locked.bios are up to date,searched the manual, even flashed but still nothing dont wanna put money for this build couse all my money went on my main rig so nothing left😡 . I want to ask if anyone can help or guide me a bit

cpu: intel core 2 quad q6600 @2.4Ghz stock
mobo:q45m foxconn
Ram :4 Gb
gpu: 6670 ddr5 1 Gb
HDD : 1TB
psu : Corsair 450W
 
There isn't much to do here. There isn't a problem with your board, it just doesn't support overclocking. If you want to overclock, you would need to look on eBay for something supporting such features (I had very good luck overclocking with a Gigabyte P45 board years ago).

You have to do some looking though. These boards are still going for crazy money. This one doesn't seem too bad:

You might just want to stick with your gift and save up for something new. The Q6600 is a great chip, but there are much more efficient CPU's out now that would crush it.

Thanks all for your replies.The build we are talking about is just a secondary pc, im using it just for movies and web browsing,at this moment my budget is very limited couse all money went on my primary rig, so getting new motherboard isnt an option.For now ill just stay with stock speeds. 🙂
