I finally got the frame rate counter to appear at the upper right corner of my screen by typing /cg_drawfps 1 in the console. Now, I was wondering if there was a command to get an average?? I notice in all the benchmarks on the various websites, they give an average frame rate. Is there anyway that I can get this with the retail version of Q3A??

in the console:

\timedemo 1
\demo demo001

then bring up the console when the demo has finished to see your average.

Well, we won't talk about MY average, cause I'm mildly embarassed. But, one of my cow orkers just built himself a 900mhz t-bird system, with a top of the line IBM drive, and Crucial CAS2 ram. With the Geforce 2 Ultra in it, he gets 129FPS at 1024x768, and with his TNT1, he gets 103FPS. It's most impressive. Now I need to come up with $1400 to buld an indentical system :)
