Hah, seriously though I wish people would just buy whatever they like and stop arguing like its the 2nd coming. Its a freaking phone and they all basically do the same thing.

YOU'RE JUST AN iDIOT! Or is that iIDIOT? Uhhh....iDUMMY. (Check the sarcasm meter, I am not trying to insult anyone, but parroting what some people say online.)

I've come to realize I don't want bells and whistles, I don't care about apps anymore beyond maps, yelp, open table...some basic ones that everyone has now. The things I *DO* care about are photos syncing, easy backups I need not worry about, and a music player/easy syncing of songs. Having a fingerprint unlock IS really nice. Having a phone watching my eye movement is not.

And battery life. It needs to last a day or more of ACTUAL use.

And truth be told, those apps are just as good on Android as iProducts, battery life just makes me crazy, thinner at the expense of battery life is dumb.

... thinner at the expense of battery life is dumb.

This is something that everyone should agree on.
I wish that the review sites would bang on about battery life a bit more in the way they bang on about far more trivial issues.

Does Samsung pay you by the number of posts or by number of replies? You're seriously damaging Samsung brand and reputation here. If that is your goal, you're doing a good job. I think I now hate Samsung because of you.

I couldn't care less that you don't buy Samsung! Because I don't work for Samsung! Seriously, I don't give a crap if Samsung fails like Nokia and IBM (which it wont).

I just created this thread because the other guy created the other "Samsung is doomed" thread. It's nice to have 2 opinions on such a matter.

Samsung isn't failing any time soon. In fact, it's shifting away from smartphones and more into electric cars and batteries. Tesla is currently leading the industry and by 2025, autonomous electric cars will be the next big thing because they will overtake gasoline cars in terms of sales and big car companies such as Toyota and GM will be bankrupt.

Competition is the best thing that the electronics industry can have. And by people only buying Apple, it's going to decrease competition and thus innovation will cease to exist. We need players like Samsung in this industry because they are the ones putting cash into R&D for advanced technologies such as 10nm CPUs, DDR4 RAM and 3D Vertical NAND memory.

Just look at the auto industry and see how no car manufacturer has a 20%+ market share. They're all hovering around 5%~15%. Right now, the smartphone industry is dominated by Apple and Samsung. No one else is competing anymore. HTC is having it's worst year in history, with its share price the lowest ever since it first started as a company in 1997. And Sony has completely left the US market and is now concentrating on Japan and Southeast Asia. And Samsung's dominance fell in 2014, but now it's rising again and I don't think Apple will ever claim back Number 1 position in global smartphone market share. UNLESS Apple really surprises us with the sales of the upcoming iPhone 6S.

Isn't Samsung a massively larger company than Apple?

Yes it is. Go watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Afpey7Eldo

Electronics and electric vehicles are the future. The vast majority of technological advancement has been driven by the electronics industry for the past decade and this will continue in the future.

in the way they bang on about far more trivial issues.

In a new interview with Nick Foulkes from the Financial Times, Apple design chief Jony Ive has defended the company's ever-thinner designs, even when they come at the expense of increased battery life. He says the company will not introduce a larger battery because it would make the devices more "cumbersome" and less "compelling":

"When the issue of the frequent need to charge the iPhone is raised," Foulkes writes, "[Ive] answers that it's because it's so thin and light that we use it so much and therefore deplete the battery."

Actually whats really impressive is the market share of the manufacturer called "Others", they're kicking everyone's collective butts, for some quarters literally so. Unfortunately I can't seem to find any of their phones for sale. Must not not be in the States, oh well.
