Outlook is awesome, there are just some people that don't know what it can do or its features.

It has it's quirks. Sending on behalf with our custom software was a pain to figure out since Outlook lets you know when that happens. EXEs get blocked, etc. I wish they wouldn't dummyproof it so much.

Eh, personal opinions vary and such...for example, I like Thunderbird.

You can fix the exe blocking.

yup. they think compose/send/receive is it and don't delve into all it's other functions.

I used to hate it because it was extremely vulnerable to viruses and other stuff...

dunno if that's been improved or not.

I like using evolution and eudora.

we each have our own reasons to use different products.

You sound like an ignorant outlook fanatic by saying the above.

I personally like the functionality of it but really hate how it doesn't feel smooth when opening messages etc. Everything seem to take many tiny pauses. I would like to see it run smooth like Thunderbird or hell even Outlook Express. Also live scrolling doesn't work on half the windows. I wonder why?

We use a department task list as well. Works beautifully as a ghetto help desk tracker.

This touches on part of my problems with it. I hit new message... 7 seconds later (on a 2.4Ghz machine) my new message window finally pops up.
I frequently have to click on a different folder before it will actually SHOW me new mail that I've received. This next one is most likely a configuration thing, but I also hate having my mail stored on the Exchange server, because when the server goes down, I can't refer back to messages while I'm working.
When I right click on an image that a client decided to insert into an email, it always wants to save it as a .bmp no matter what image type it is, and doesn't automatically pull in the name.
Is that enough for you, or do I need to keep going on about different reasons I hate it?

I'm not, I use my companys webmail half the time anyway for the record, but in my experience with different mail clients Outlook blows them away in my opinion, want to share with us what you use?
