Q - USB cable for high current charging

For higher than 0.5 A currrent, I have to short Data+ and Data-. Is this the same whether the receiving end (the electronic device) has mini or micro usb? Thanks.

I found the answer. Yes, same D+ D- shorting at the device end, not the charger end
