Miniseries documentary on HBO.

HOLY CRAP!

Even nuttier, sad, yet inane roots than I imagined.

Well connected story of a handful of key players, internet dweebs that spawned from 4chan to 8chan to 1/6.

They pretty conclusively establish who the real Q is. I won't spoil.

It's sad that 8chan clickbait basically fk'd America and nearly destroyed democracy.

We are only human. Our collective psyche did that itself.

"Nearly" is an interesting word. Suggesting it is somehow over. It has manifested itself into our very political parties. Reality is defined by who you vote for. The rest simply falls into place. Now the "other" side is pure evil, and they view you the same. Actions to sanction or punish them will only confirm it. There will be retaliation, then escalation. We are two peoples on one land. That Union is going to end.

I have a theory on QAnon and other conspiracy like the cult of Trump, since so many of my family are Q trumpies. You see, I know their background. Take my Niece, now in her 30's she looks like actress Julia Roberts, even better, yet she has gone 1000% QAnon. Refuses to wear a mask, refuses to be vaccinated, and believes Covid is only a sham to see how far the government can go in controlling people with fear. And you wouldn't want to read her Facebook page, at least the stuff that Facebook has not taken down due to policy.

So on Easter Sunday we all go to Cracker Barrel. Cracker Barrel has a mask policy, masks must be worn at all times except when sitting at your table. Sounds fair to me. And an announcement played every 20-30 minutes over their PA system states their mask policy. So here is my niece, the Julia Roberts look a like with that million dollar smile, here is my niece standing at the door of the restaurant vocally ranting and raving THIS IS ILLEGAL. THEY CAN'T MAKE US WEAR MASKS. THIS IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL. I'M GOING TO TAKE CRACKER BARREL TO COURT. THEY CAN'T DO THIS, THEY CAN'T DO THIS. Needless to say, everyone standing around was watching and shaking their heads. God only knows what the people watching were thinking?

So here is my theory.... My niece was molested by her father when she was only twelve years old. And so was her eleven year old sister. The molestation began when they were eleven and twelve and continued on for several years. Only was it exposed years later when my then eleven year old nice who was now in her twenties, wrote letters to the family exposing what had happened to them in their teens by their father. And the letter stated that my niece was disowning the entire family. My sister (their mother) was in shock by the letter, and the parents (my sister and brother in law) soon separated. Yet my niece in her letter also accused her mother of knowing all along what was going on and simply turned her back in denial. And I now believe that was probably the case.

To make what could be a very VERY long story short, I believe what happened to them when they were so young is why they now turn to QAnon, and to Donald Trump, and to subscribing to nonsense conspiracy because they can no longer believe in the normally that the world had taught them. As children they were taught to trust the parents, trust the policemen, trust the teachers, trust the clergy, they were taught to trust. But what does happen to a child when the very thing they were taught to trust in suddenly fails them???

The parent are suppose to be the one protector that a child can always rely on, to trust in, but what happens to the child when that parent suddenly becomes the monster? Well I know what happens, that child can no longer trust or believe in what they were taught as a child. They can no longer believe in the government, or in the establishment, or in law and order. And this is where QAnon comes into their life, and people like Donald Trump comes into their life, and their hatred for the government and hatred for the establishment comes into their life. They would rather trust the QAnon's and the Trump's before ever trusting in government or the establishment. If they are to believe in anything, it can not be in what they were taught to believe in as a child, it can only be in the extremes, the non reality, the conspiracies. And this is why Trumpies and the QAnon and so many other groups like The Proud Boys have become main stream.

I would bet that like my two nieces, and including their mother, and including every believer in Trump and in QAnon, all of those people either as a child or later on in their life have experienced some life altering traumatic event , some Alice Through The Looking Glass traumatic event that skewed their reality and killed off any trust they were taught to have. And this is exactly why they can not nor will never believe or trust or rely on anything government, anything CDC, anything establishment. They will not believe because they can not believe. Their world has become a world where the monsters are the parents.

Close....

And though I am sure everyone's journey there is different, we now see the sponge that has chosen their destination. Took all that free radical potential and churned it into this....

Ultimately what these people share is misery. The world they live in has failed them. For a lot of Americans it has a lot more to do with a large and sweeping failure, which has lead to many hardships and personal traumas. It was the Reagan revolution and trickle down. It is the GAP between productivity and wages that has risen from that moment. A wave of soul crushing defeat for the workers of America. A system that, by design, leaves them behind. Ours is a dog eat dog nation and even those who climb high on the dog pile... they know the sins they had to commit to "make it".

Democrats would call them middle class, but I know the type. Inside they are hollowed out husks and this is the general reason why. Your parallel explains one family. My reach is further.

I've been pondering this subject for a while, intent of starting a topic re: the journey unto madness. For I stared into its precipice and I know what stared back. I know others who have since fallen over it despite my best efforts. I too have family that is every bit as belonging to the cult of Q. Die hard Trumpers. It comes from a place of despair. Their view of the world is a dim one, informed by a lack of education and a sheer inability to fathom how the world works, how they have been screwed in life, and why they cannot just wish away the pain and pretend there is a savior to place their misbegotten faith in.

Someone... or something. Makes no difference now, with political polarization driving the detachment from reality. America has already set sail. How do we survive the coming storm, when our people are the storm?

Weaponized Federalism. I've posted the link here before I believe.

This is a blog by a guy who was a Republican and ran a blog called GOPLifer, until Trump came along.

I'm at the point where I'm all for tough love. If you vote for a Republican, you should get Republican policy. I'm tired of red state people getting to live on the backs of blue state policy enacted to save red states from themselves...and I live in a red(dish) state myself. Of course, I'm looking forward to making Stacey Abrams my governor, but I digress.

It seems the Q mystery and followers have peaked, but I agree that the tactics were disturbingly successful and will be used again in another mass psyops campaign against voters in democracies.

So far the answer seems to be "no I haven't watched it," but I would highly recommend it.

The documenter was embedded with the core internet figures from 2017, and followed the start and evolution of the movement at a personal, behind the keyboard perspective.

These were the figures who created and owned 8chan, where "Q" conveniently made all his posts (drops.)

It also follows key youtubers & podcasters who picked up, analyzed, amplified and built careers around Q.

It also follows and connects key DC GOP and trumpworld figures, including Corsi, Bannon and Flynn, and lower level figures (inc retired US Mil) who were pretty clearly involved behind the scenes to support and advise the internet perpetrators using disinfo and psyops tactics devised by the military.

It also shows out how these separate groups came together for mutual self interest (power, ideology and/or money) and how the pieces came together on 1/6 at the Capitol.

It also follows a few opponents in their efforts to stop and expose a clearly stupid and fake AF conspiracy theory, but how reason was outmatched by madness and fervor.

I actually pegged him the minute I saw him and learned what the setup was lol. I turned to my husband and said "It is 100% this dude".
Got the end spoiled for me by a news story on the series.

I feel i need to get HBO Max. They are starting to put out a few things worth watching.
Get it for the content, but holy hell the app itself is garbage.

I take back all the mean things I ever said about funimation's.

That sounds spot-on, to me. Have had similar thoughts myself. People who have experienced abuse as victims of it, can have a slight tendency to see it everywhere.

The Qanon stuff is "projection", but not on a simple individual level, I'm not saying it's individual abusers or conspirators projecting their crimes onto others (as plausible as that seems with the likes of Matt Gaetz), rather it's a kind of collective group projection. People can't face the idea that their own communities, those closest to them, might have betrayed them, so they have to identify a distant 'other' as the source of all the pain.

Really close, but one important factor is that the Republican party itself at this point is an abuser. For anyone who's been in an abusive relationship, they'll tell you that it didn't just become abusive at one point. It's a slow burn, that mires you in over a long period, until you're too stuck in to do anything. That's what the Republican party and conservative media have been doing to their followers for decades, and it's why everyone on the outside looking in cannot understand the continued support.

'Trust only me.' 'Those who tell you I'm no good are liars.' 'You'd be worse off without me.' 'You're special.' 'Only I know you.'

These are the words of abuse, and you can hear it over and over everywhere if you listen.

Hope this doesn't "spoil" anything, but ... This article is from August 2020 that already “figured out” and was well known that the entity that owns the websites 8kun and qdrops is “Q”. ..The only thing up in the air is whether it’s the father or the son that actually composes the bullshit.
