hey all,

i'm going to do a clean reformat of my computer's hard drive. i know how to back up data for all of my programs with the exception of Outlook Express. is there a way to backup emails/settings/folders (any or all?). tips for restoration would also be very helpful. thanks in advance for your help.

In Windows XP and 2000, this should be the place where the emails and everything are.

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{"big string of numbers"}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

I just back them up, and after reformat and reinstall, I pop em' back in.

It is pretty simple to copy your DBX file - even synch them on another computer. Open OE, and go to Tools, Options, and Maintenance. Then look at the Store Folder button and learn where all the DBX files are. Then using Explorer, copy them to any media you like (pen drives are great for that) and put them anywhere you like.
