Are there detailed accounts of the developer options exposed in Android's "control panel"? There are so many options and I don't know what most of them do.
Also, is there a way to control applications' behavior at the OS level? I unchecked "Auto-add widgets," but some apps still dump a bunch of useless widgets in the widgets drawer. Most apps are being considerate by either providing customization options or dropping only a couple widgets, but there are some egregious examples for otherwise excellent apps.
