I noticed lately that when people here in OT ask about weight loss, a lot of members mention water to help aid in weight loss. Why is that, I'm

most people now adays are somewhat dehydrated so drinking water not only is good for your kidneys but it keeps your body free of a build up of toxins.

waste in your body is filtered through kidneys by the nephrons the nephrons then use the water and you pee it out so its a good way to "flush" your system.

Since the human body is about 55% water, if you could loose all your water you could really loose a lot of weight.

Lose all your water?? That, you wouldn't want to do. :)

Viper GTS, if you're drinking diet Coke for example, would you really see that much of a difference between water intake & soda intake?

I was, of course, referring to sugared drinks, though water is still better for you than diet soda.

Aside from the calories, water acts as sort of a bodily cleanser. When you are hydrated, your body has a much easier time performing its normal functions. In addition, there was a study done that proved most americans (80%) get hungry when in actuality, they are de-hydrated. If you have had a moderate meal, you really shouldn't feel hungry for about 6 hours. If you do get hungry, have a glass of water and see how you feel 5 minutes later (give or take). Think of all those salty foods americans ingest, and it makes a lot of sense.

you metabolize a lot better when you're fully hydrated. also, many people confuse thirst with hunger. so they eat when they should be drinking.
