Q about surround and Divx

Hi!

Can I get "surroundsound" from a ripped DVD-movie (divx-avi)?
Of course if I have a 5.1 sound card...

I believe so. You need to get an AC3 plugin for your DivX doomahicky. I know that Flask has one, but the others I couldn't say.

yes it is...
I did just that !!!
with flaskmpeg -> global project options - >audio-> enable direct stream copy...

don't forget to use the thunder.mism plugin for flask (the later versions needs it ... it offers more funcionality when ripping dvd's)

now you have your divx with ac3....

after this you must have some sort of windvd player...(if you want to hear more than 5 minutes you must have any non shareware windvd version)
then install this...

powerdivx next generation program
from http://blacksunsoft.divx-digest.com/maine.htm
it enables some windvd driver to process that ac3 stream of any divx...

then you can hear those divx with ac3..
😉
most of the info I got from here:
http://www.divx-digest.com

now something totally different:
powervr hercules 4500 or any other kyro 2 board rules...
🙂

I believe you can also register the Cyberlink audio filter instead of the InterVideo one in combination with the MPEG ActiveMovie codec. The common package which includes the latter is called audiofilters on doom9.net. Cyberlink's has more options and does not interfere with MP3 playback via WMP (degrading the Fraunhofer decoder). Don't ask me why this can happen, and if you use Winamp or somesuch exclusively anyway it is not an issue.

The new Pdivxng31 is a downgrade try to find Pdivxng30 with that you can register windvd drivers for ac3...

or use the option offered by auric
😉
