That sounds terribly sweet as I will get even more surroundness and not have to waste the speakers. Thank you both of you for helping so much. Only reason I am considering getting 5.1 is because the x-530 is on sale for $70CAN here

No problem. Hope you like the speakers, let us know how they work out for you and feel free to post any other questions/comments 🙂

well i got them speakers and they all work but I am having wiring/placement problem.

Are there any software utilities that allow me to direct different line to different speakers like say swaping the sound frin the front left with front right

The speakers are great I have them bass is great and I thought the back speakers are pretty good. Hope you enjoy them. I did and still do. 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

bump... my front speakers are currently backwards 🙁

Hmm, you sure you got them right in the first place? The one with the volume knob should be on the right side...and make sure you plugged them all in the right ports in the sub.

oh no, i have them backward on purpose because of the cable length. i want to know if there is a software to reverse them

Some soundcards have stereo reverse as an option, but I don't know about yours.

Again, I don't have the x-530s, just can't you just move the two wires into the other outputs on the sub? I guess I'm not really understanding the changing them for placement issues.

If you get really desperate, you can buy a few dollars worth of adapters and physically switch the left and right inputs to the sub... let me know if you might be interested in that.

I cant switch the outputs because the front right speaker has the 3 cables to connect to the sound card and theother end is an analog monitor cable that goes in the sub. My system is on the left so I have to locate that main speaker on the left

Oh, I see. My Logitech z-560s were setup differently so that wasn't an issue.

If you can't find a software solution, some quick fixes would be to
1. Get some 1/8" audio extension cables like these so you could put your "front right" speaker wherever you wanted to
(I think that would help if it's the three 1/8" connections that are too short)
2. Switch the FR and FL signals by getting one of these and one of these and instead of connecting the matching colors, connect red to white and white to red. This should sent the front left signal to the front right speakers and the right front signal to the left front speaker.

ahhh yes very smart, I can use the 2nd solution 🙂 thx so much

Cool. You can get that stuff at radioshack too if you don't want to wait. Just make sure they don't charge too much for them.

If you get them from cablesforless, make sure you get the cheapest shipping (I think it's USPS Priority for me).
