Q about Gainward GeForce2 Pro/450 using s-video for tv-out.

I'm using the Gainward GF2Pro/450 and trying to get my tv-out to work. The card came with an s-video to composite adapter, but since I have an s-video cable that I used with my voodoo3, I was hoping to use just the s-video cable without any adapters. My problem is that it's not working. I'm using the Det3 12.41s in winXP and win2k. I can choose my settings, or hit the detect display button, but either way the screen appears to be trying to show the image but can't and the display properties switches back to using the monitor. I can't seem to find any composite cables around the house, so I was wondering if anyone else has used the tv-out on this card and can tell me if they used the adapter or not to get it working?
