I'm setting up DSL on someone else's computer. Its a fairly old Compaq Presario 4880. I need to install a network card. I've tried installing it in a few different slots. When it is installed I receive the following errors, and the computer will not boot:

Initializing Intel (R) Boot Agent GE v1.2.14
PXE 2.1 Build 083 (WfM 2.0), RPL V1.20

Intel(R) Boot Agent GE v1.2.14
Copyright (C) 1997-2003, Intel Corporation
PXE-E28: BIS bad entry structure checksum
PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel Boot Agent

I've installed network cards lots of times, never had anything like this occur. Do I need to flash the BIOS? Any help would be appreciated.
