They pretty much discentigrate.. I've seen some up close stills and it's not pretty. In addition to killing the terrorists It's also a psychologial weapon to demoralise the rest.

It's people. I would post stills (go to ogrish and search for 50 cal) but that just asking for two weeks off...the firepower of the .50 is impossible to imagine until you see what it does to a human body.
 
Wow. That's really nasty. Weird how they go flying into the air... what actually causes that lift? I'd have imagined that the bullet would pass through, making a hefty mess on the way, but only really in the plain of the bullet. Still, I don't think the 'reciprient' would even feel a thing. It's like an insta-gibb.

Would be good to see this on battlefield 2 or CS:S...
 
Those are actually videos of some hunting club in the midwestern US that hunt varmints with .50 cal rifles for fun.

HEADSHOT!

Actually, you don't even have to hit your target dead on with that rifle. The round moves so much air it makes watermelons explode within 3 feet of target. Imagine a human head instead.

My brother had the privlege of shooting one of these while in the Corps. He was in an improper stance though and the spent shell casing landed on his forearm. It was so hot it seared to his skin and stuck. He quickly pulled it off (while screaming like a little girl I later heard 🙂) and now has quite the scar from it.

in fact that is part of Rocky Mountain Varmint Hunter series of video's.
