Sorry, I searched, but apparently the story wasn't big enough to have headlines (so no linky, but it came out of NBC) and, it was funny nonetheless.
Two would be robbers attempted an armed robbery on an old couple outside a Anaheim Hills mall, in the parking lot. The husband was aware of the surrounding and noticed two young men were approaching them with guns. What the robbers didn't know was, the old guy is a sherrif retiree, and was carrying. He shot one of the suspect and they got away in a white van. Left at the scene was the suspect's gun, a .357, and the old sherrif's gun, a .44.
The moral of the story? Bring bigger gun. 😛
EDIT: eh.... you guys know I'm kidding about the bringing bigger gun right?... right?
