Ok, so I sell something to someone and he sends me instant funds from a confirmed account. 3 days later the funds get reversed. How the fvck does this happen? And I'm assuming that theres nothing that I can do right?

Did you ship with a tracking number?
Also, did you learn never to use Paypal again?

Its gone, it was video game items btw, and any trace to the person is gone of course. I figured instant payment from a confirmed buyer would be safe enough. Nope.

At least all I lost was virtual stuff. Still gay.

Why the hell didn't you withdraw the funds immediately? Also, I sure hope you used some type of tracking or confirmation? Plus do you have a pics of the item you sold? How about the listing? Emails sent to and from the buyer? PMs? A link to the thread or auction?

Use all of these and contact Paypal immediately?
If you used USPS he is fvcking around with federal theft as well.

Good luck

Well, let me guess - was it WoW items/characters?

Also, was it through eBay or a forum?

You need to contact PayPal and ask them wtf happened. They are supposed to contact you before they do anything with the money. The only thing I can think of is that he contacted his bank or CC company and had the charge/withdrawl reversed.

Talk to PayPal to get your money back, or dig up anything you can on the guy.

So you've gotten nothing from pp about WHY they removed the money?

And what does "At least all I lost was virtual stuff." mean exactly? By video game "items" you mean items in an online role playing game perchance? Probably one of those that specifically state "All items remain THEIRS and you may not sell THEIR property"?

That's what I'm guessing.

DUDE. You got sent an email asking you to reply to the transaction dispute, and you said nothing, so they automatically ruled in his favor.

That's what the long waiting period was.

I had to wait a week too to get my money back from a troll, but he had already withdrawn it and they gave nothing back to me. So I called up the Knoxville PD and had two investigators go to his house to have a chat. The check is in the mail.

I had this happen. If the (buyer's) checking acct. linked to the paypal acct. is empty then paypal puts the $ in your (seller's) acct. and then removes it a couple days later. I lost $220.

I have heard more stories of paypal being used to effectively steal in game items than anything else. And the seller NEVER gets the money back. It's always the same:

1: Buy items from a seller.
2: Use paypal
3: Get items
4: Wait a short period
5: Reverse funds

The "buyer" retains the items, gets thier money back, and the seller has absolutely no recourse against it. Small claims court is the best bet.

You're SOL if it's virtual items cuz there is no proof of receipt/proof of tracking.

You can't withdraw funds from your bank account because PP will send you to collections or similar.

That's what I do, I sell a fairly high priced item and if I'm not making another immediate purchase, those funds go right to the linked checking account.

Last quoted sentence is true, federal offense!
