Firefox just froze while I was browsing this forum, so I close it and reopen it to find the dreaded profile selection screen... it deleted my profile!

Firefox 1 - Me 0

Is there some firefox update to prevent this shiyit ?

i did that... removed all firefox.exe processes. No parent.lock file found. Still no old profile

i have never had that happen, this browser i don't think has ever messed up in it's life for me
 
I've never had that happen... FireFox will occasionally 'lock up'... I just wait it out - usually lasts no more than 20 seconds, and then everything is fine. Worst case, I kill all firefox.exe processes, and everything is back to normal. Never had it delete my profile before...

Yeah...that happened to me a lot before.

Hasn't happened recently at all
 
Happened to me once. Went into the profiles folder for FireFox and there was a bunch of files that were marked xxx-1.xxx so I just renamed them without the -1 and all was back to normal.
 
Same thing happened to me, but it was just the processes not ending. End 'em in task manager or restart. It may ask you to choose a profile again, but when it happened to me I just selected "default" and everything was back to normal.

Is it just me or do there seem to be more bugs with 1.0? I've had more [minor] problems with it in a couple months than in almost a year of prior releases.
 
damned hog... 72MB with just this one window open right now. :| I like it otherwise so I'm a glutton for punishment. 🙁

Crashes always result in killing the process, then the profile thing goes away. I don't know how yours got removed completely.
 
it's happened to me, but usually killing the process brings it all back for me. I have my bookmarks backed up regardless though, I hate loosing them.
