"The Scream" was stolen 10 years ago, from Oslo's National Art Museum, and recovered three months later after the perpetrators failed to extract ransom for its return.

Who would want to steal his Madonna? it looks creepy. Even The Scream isn't much better.

They're famous, and probably worth a pretty penny. Some insane art collector that thinks these things are better kept for private eyes instead of open to the world would love to get his hands on one of these.
I hate that crap. These things have no value if people can't see them. Think of all the art lost between thieves and war. Think of all the art that has been lost and replaced by forgeries, stuff half of us has probably gone to museams to see, stuff that 99% of the population will never know is a forgery. It's disgusting.

I'm sure there are some great books on the history of famous paintings that never emerged to the public eye and whatnot...stuff getting stolen, copied, burned, lost...
As for this situation...you would think that they'd have a little planning in place incase another theft was attempted.
