I have a CPU cooler that uses a PWM controlled fan.

Anybody know the defaults for the profile.....

ex. 40% at 55C
50% at 65C

Page 45 of motherboard manual:

http://europe.giga-byte.com/Fi...al_ga-p35-(d)s3l_e.pdf

BIOS settings:

Smart Fan Control: Enabled
Smart fan mode: Auto

This will auto detect the Intel PWM fan

Note page 46, fan has to have 4 pins for PWM to work.

Page 67: easy tune software? I am not familiar with it, but looks like you can control fan with it. I would assume it has the defaults pre-loaded in it?

Max temp for your CPU: 61c:

See page 74: min fan speed at 30C, max at 40C:

http://download.intel.com/desi.../designex/31780405.pdf

I think that is the default, or at least what Intel recommends....

Actually, that's a different temp than the core temp. I can't remember off the top of my head it's acronym, but it's the temp sensor between the dies. The generally agreed upon max safe core temp for those is anything less than 70C, though I wouldn't want mine to run that high very often. Of course, I hear that I'm a bit anal about temps, too.:D
