All of these things also have visual tricks (assuming they are all plus instead of times symbol, having 1 cat paw in the picture instead of 2). Otherwise PEMDAS.

I'm willing to bet that any wrong answer other than 60 is because the whole point of the way it's done is to trick people. Even the multiplication symbol is just a cut/paste of the plus symbol rotated 45 degrees. The whole point is to try and trick people.

If it was written out as:

10 + 10 + 10 = 30
10 + 5 + 5 = 20
5 + 2 + 2 = 9
5 + 1 * 10 = ?

I am willing to bet that you would only see 2 answers: 60 and 15.

Granted, people who don't know basic orders of operations are idiots, but that's besides the point. I'm talking about any other wrong answer other than 60 is due to the image trying to trick people into the wrong numbers.

The trick to all of these stupid gotcha Facebook puzzles is that two rules apply:

1) Know PEMDAS

2) Look for that one out of place image that doesn't belong. Even if you know PEMDAS, it'll get ya!

And this is how one image gets several hundred responses a day.

Oops! Biffed. It's worth one! One paw =1 I thought 2.5. My bad...

Yep, answer is 15.

I don't even understand why so many variations of this keep floating around FB.

Makes people feel self-important by 'tricking' strangers. It's like that guy that likes to ask trivia questions in the office and smile as you either a) ask questions or b) give logical answers that aren't right because of wordplay.

These are so dumb and I see this floating around everywhere and they are essentially all the same. Supposedly an "idiot" test however it has backfired for me when I see this posted on FB, I automatically assume the poster is an idiot.

16: don't catch that the last symbol is times and not plus
25: don't catch that it's only 1 paw
17: don't catch that it's times or only 1 paw

There is not enough information to answer. The one paw photo was never given a numerical value.

People posting above me are just assuming that one paw is worth half of two paws. But are paws truly non-synergistic in this situation?

Shit I didn't realize we had to consult with you before posting anything here. Sorry it wasn't up to you standards. But I am kinda wondering since you have so few threads of your own who made you the poster police?

Place a number from the given set into each of the nine cells such that all six equations are satisfied. Equations are read left-to-right and top-to-bottom and follow BODMAS rule.

I think the answer to this one is somewhere between 3 and 34.

I applaud you for failing the reading comprehension test. Or... it's possible you never heard of FB, but using occam's razor, it's simpler to assume my initial assumption.
