yes, i have all read the various posts about enabling sleep-
1)make sure your mobo will do it and the bios is set to s3
2)make sure the power options have it enabled
3)make sure the power management tabs in the devices in device manager are set appropriately
but this question is a bit more subtle. my pc sleeps fine when it is left alone. it enters the s3 state and everything shuts down except the power led (which blinks) when no one is looking and stays there until it is tickled. this is the way it should be. however it will not seep if an app is running in the background.
my question relates more to allowing the pc to go to sleep if there is no USER interaction. i dont care if it is defragging in the background, i dont care if my kids have a p2p client running invisibly in the background, i dont care if an application is chugging away in the background. I WANT IT TO GO TO SLEEP UNLESS SOMEONE HAS TOUCHED THE KEYBOARD OR MOVED THE MOUSE.
is there any solution to this?
