Putting together new system, not enough connections on PSU?

I have an Antec True Power 380,it has been a good power supply over the past year and I just recently upgraded from an Athlon XP to a 64. I got the MSI K8N sli board with it. Now, when I go to connect the motherboard has a ATX 24-pin slot but my PSU only seems to have 20pins..... Is there something I am missing here?

When did power supplies begin to impliment these changes? My PSU is fairly new and I am quite shocked that it isn't working with my new system...... I can actually plug it into the slot but the top 4 holes are not filled..... The system boots and the fans come on but nothing shows up on the screen, I can only assume it is the PSU....

It's been phased in over the last few years, if you don't have the connectors then you either need an adapter cable or a new PSU.

your psu has 20+4 pins which is 24 pins, and your mobo has has 24 pin connecter. so how can your psu not work. The 4 pin connector should be in the mobo somewhere if im right. In 24 pin connector, one connector is like standard which has 20 pins and the other connector has 4 pin which you mobo should have. Look in the manual for your mobo to see where that connector is.

The TP 380, the one that comes with the Antec Sonata case, has only a 20 pin connector. What you are looking for is a 20-to-24 pin adaptor. I know Newegg sells them. Check with Compusa online. You may be able to walk in to a local store and pick one up.

You seem to be confusing the 4 pin 12v ATX connector(2 yellow wires, 2 black wires) with the extra 4 pins on a 24pin ATX connector. They are NOT the same thing.
