Would it work? I'm thinking about a mini refrigerator unit and just put the darn thing in there and shut the door... would the condensation fry it? =)

How would you keep ice off of it? How often would you defrost your fridge?

I've heard of people doing it before. You could just put it in a sealed plastic bag or box to keep the condensation off.

You will only have condesation on it if you open the door. Other wise it should stay dry. You will want to have your CD ROM, hard Drive, and floppy external of the fridge, maybe power suppy as well......atleast those are my thoughts......and yes I have seen pics of someone doing this before.

I seem to have heard of something about refigerator compressors burning out in this type of situation.

Something like their compressors just aren't designed to run all the time, and this would make it have to?

Maybe you could try a small freezer: it would probably have a more rugged compressor motor.

Well, not necessarily burn out as in get too hot. It would just run so often for so long that it would wear out.

it woudn't run anymore than a normal fridge. a refrigerator only runs enough to keep the contents at a certain temp. it doesn't matter what you put in the fridge. the only thing that matters is what temp you set it at. if you set it colder, it will run more, and if you set it hotter it will run less. i've seen fridges from the 70's that still run fine. don't worry about it.

I saw a bunch of guys who did this a while ago. They had no problems whatsoever, they just warned you that if you were to do it, not to turn off the fridge, because if you ddi you would have to wait for all the water to evaporate before turning it back on agian.
