Putting new case together. What does the power button connector look like?

I'm setting up my wicked new Antec P160, and it's lookin great.

I bought the case used on here, so there's no manual. I'm a little confused about how to hook up the power button, and what it looks like.

Just look for the cable coming from the power button itself. Small, two wire, connector that looks a bit like a jumper. If you need pics, let me know.

My power button is in the same spot as my front audio connections, etc and all the wires are mixed together. If you could show me a picture, I'd be grateful

It's a small plastic block with two wires leading into it that will fit over two pins on your motherboard (it looks a lot like a jumper, but a little bigger and longer). In every case I've seen, it is labeled "POWER" or "PWR SW" on one side.

There should be another one just like it for the reset button, usually labelled... wait for it... "RESET".

Hmmm alright... I haven't seen a connector like that. I think Antec did something different with the connector. I'll have to look it up...

Check and make sure the connector isn't tucked down in the front or behind the drive bays (or something like that). Sometimes they stick it down there to prevent it from getting damaged during shipping. It could also be bundled in with the other front panel connector plugs and you missed it. Worst case, you should be able to follow the wires coming from the power switch and see where they go.

They *have* to use that connector (or something very much like it); that's the ATX spec for the power button.

Hey guys, I just bought the same case that Stew did (Antec P160) and I seem to have a similar issue. This is my first system build so it's probably stupidity, but my ego can take being laughed at.

I understand how the connectors on the motherboard hook up to the "Power SW" and all that. What I'm confused about is exactly what I do with the little "dohicky" that has the button on it. It says "Off C (with the little "o" for Celcius)" and "On F (with little "o" for Farenheit") so I kinda assumed this was some sort of temperature thing. Is this an actual switch that is supposed to connect up behind the power button?

Antec has it cabled together with everything else and when all the connections are hooked up to the motherboard, I don't see how I could connect this to anything behind the front bezel without undoing all the cables. To me it wouldn't make sense for Antec to have bunded it all up this way it was mean to be connected up towards the top of the case, but maybe I'm wrong.

Please direct a newbie to the correct course of action. Thanks!

The P160 has two built in temperature probes connected to the front Panel. It's not common or standard to have those probes included. Just Antec like adding goodies to their products...
