Putting my PC in a closet... (Another GoldMember Idea) :)

Ok.. well you all (most of you) put some good idea's into my AC'in my room with peltiers topic... Now it's time to use those brains again 🙂.

My "desk" sits along a wall which 3ft from me has a door.. that goes into a closet!

Well, it's not just a closet for clothes .. it has the clothes hanger bar sure.. and it has a little top shelf.. but the closet goes back more.. the cieling of it slands down some.. but it goes back about 5 or 6ft.. The cieling slands down at the end.. leaving about a total standing room of about 4ft..

Anyway.. You can see the relation now.. I could easily put my PC in it there.. or.. could I?
My concerns:

1. I'd have to get extension cables for, Monitor, Mouse, Keyboard. I'd also like to have LONGER IDE cables for my floppy and cd-rom,
CD-rw. How long would they have to be you ask? Well the monitor cable would have to be another 6ft longer, the mouse cable.. another 4ft longer, the keyboard, another 5ft longer, IDE cables... They'd have to be 6Ft long... They make 2Ft long IDE cables.. but 6Ft? Would that be good for data transfer?

2. I am thinking of staying with water cooling.. just regular water cooling through... No peltier.. Where am I going to vent this heat? I mean after a while the closet will get hot and the cooling of the radiator won't be that good anymore.. I DO NOT want to vent it to my room. If I go with regular air cooling on the CPU and what not.. how do you think that will work? I can always just put a small AC fan in the closet too.. I saw these HoneyWell's (think they were honeywell) at Wal-Mart last night.. small fans that where in a round shape.. they were fairly quiet too.. they put out a LOT of air!

The pro's of this idea:

1. QUIET!! SILENCE!! SILENCIO!!

2. Make a lot more room in my.. room 🙂

3. IF any water should leak.. the closet floor is done up with linolium.. Water leaks won't be a problem because it won't get into my carpet then!! Unless it all like spilled out.. but that's a big IF

4. Pretty much no need for a case then. I would end up taking my radiator out the case and putting one of those honeywell fans I saw at Walmart right on it.. more CFM.. quieter too.

5. Less dust enviroment.. Easy to maintain in there.. with a light on the wall too!

6.

erm wait.. I just thought of something.. I would need to have longer power cables too.. for my floppy and cd-roms which I'd want to have out here so I could have easy use of them.

ugh.. ya well.. once again parents 🙁

If I had my choice I'd just put my PC in the closet.. then drill a hole right through the wall.. i wouldn't need extended cables.. I'd put mounts for my CD-roms and floppy so they'd go right through the wall and sit right next to me.. in the wall.. be very cool 🙂 and quiet.

I'd also put power and reset buttons on my wall too.. but unless i like beg.. i won't be doing any drilling.. at all. even then it's a big if.. damn it.

Well, Can I make my power supply cables for my CD-rom and my floppy LONGER? along with my mouse, keyboard and monitor cables? The mouse is USB.. the keyboard is USB.. I use an enermax 431w.

thanks guys
