Hey all,

First off, system specs:

A64 3200+ Newcastle
MSI K8N Neo Plat
XP Pro SP2
BFG 6800GT
etc etc

Living in my own condo, I don't want to leave my puter on 24/7. I also don't want to hibernate constantly, as w/1GB RAM it takes forever to hibernate/resume.

Whenever I try to put it into "Standby" (leaving power to the RAM only), it looks like it doesn't actually go to "sleep." The fans stay on, GPU fans, etc all stay on. Screen turns off and the HDD's MIGHT turn off, but that's it. The way I understand it all that stuff should turn off.

Is it just me or is something not working right?

Thx

Sounds like ACPI Suspend is set to S1(POS).
Go into your BIOS Power Management section.
Under ACPI Suspend Type, make sure it is set to S3(STR).
Hope this works.
Cheers, Bruce.
