Putting DDR2-800

Will it be fine to insert DDR2-800 rated ram sticks into a DDR2-667 rated motherboard?

I read around that inserting ram should be fine, it would just put it at the rated spec of 667.

Could anyone confirm this for me?

Does inserting ram higher rated than normal affect DDR or DDR3 as well? Just thought i
would ask to make sure.

800 is fine. DDR and DDR3 won't work.
