<< ummmm... no. I have merely spilled water on a couple of keyboards which now, sadly, are no longer with us.:( >>

Well, it was plugged in wasn't it? I'm sure he wouldn't have it plugged in while in the dishwasher :)

take the thing apart and look at how its put together. its not hard to put back together either. some screws mightbe under stickers though.

anyways, BAD idea to use dishwasher. open it and you'll know why. you gotta take it apart for it to dry.. else the contacts corrode(even if you try blow drying). theres basically a sandwich of stuff in there for water to sit and corrode sh*t

take it apart, THEN toss stuff logically into the washer:p

btw i know this because i'd destroyed 3 keyboards:) gave me excuses to upgrade almost hehe. from cheapie keytronics to logitechs, they have the same problem with water. if your lucky.. water won't get trapped between the sheets, or not enough to damage. its not worth the chance:p take the ddamned thing apart.

I think it also depends on the type of water. Don't use the hot water option or heated dry. Steam is > 212F and I don't think most IC's like that. One time my car alarm remote was in my pocket for a day at the river. A week later, it had dried out, but I had to brush off dirt and corrosion gunk. It still works fine.

i just cleaned all 5 of my keyboards with tap water. ran it under the water for a good 2 minutes or so and just hung them out on the laundry line to dry. lol. but after they were dried for about 3 hours i plugged them back in and they work fine and are now squeaky clean!!

Not only this, but I think there's a way to dry the stuff in an oven at 200 degrees with the door slightly open... hehe I've never tried it though --- Langa Link
