I want to put a Lite-on 8x ihes208 drive in my PC:

Asus a7n8x-x
Athlon xp 2400 (266 FSB)
1 gig of ram
Asus ATI AH3650 AGP video card (9.10 driver because ATI doesn't really support smart gart after 9.10)

The sole purpose of this is to play Blu-Ray movies on my Samsung p2370hd TV/Monitor.

I'm wondering if this will work.

Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

I acctually do have an old SATA card lying around. But I think I'll just wait to get a better system or get a stand alone player. Thanks for the advice.

Stand alone players are usually not much more than a PC drive and don't need any additional hardware or software to work. They'll also be more user friendly. Best Buy just happens to have this Sony one on sale for $150.
