I just got this set of components from our Christmas party gift exchange earlier tonight and was thinking of making a headless PC out of it and run something like Freesco.

P-100 on a Compaq Socket 7 mobo
2 Meg S3 DX/VX video
10mbps Ethernet
2 MB RAM (has a DIMM slot free tho, so i'll up it l8r)
1.44 floppy
140w PS
3.2 Seagate HDD
Some obscure Soundcard

My only thing is, it doesn't have a case. So anybody got suggestions on how i can pack this together? I could very well just put everything on the floor like the innards of a robot but that wouldn't be fun :)

I just dumped a whole bunch of old AT cases. If ya want I can dig in my junk drawer and see if I have some old DIMMs or SIMs:D

koukla, that'd be cool. I do have a DIMM tho, so thanks for the offer - dya still have one of those cases? heheh.. Funny tho since the 2mb RAM that comes with the mobo is actually built-in to the thing and there's only one free DIMM slot.

heheh.. even the L2 cache is a module on this thing :)

Or, you can do what russ has done

Crack Rack
click on test labs, then cluster computing project

Or, better yet, get some thick plexiglass, and custome build your own case.
