Put Vista on Raid drives or no?

I currently have 4 x 320gb Seagate drives 7200.10, and I'm wondering how I should set them up.

- 4x 320gb in RAID 0

or

- 3x 320gb in RAID 0 and 1 with Vista on it not in RAID.

I will be capturing game footage at 720p uncompressed, so would 3 drives be fast enough to keep up with the capture? I don't care about losing data, so that is why I'm going RAID 0.

Keeping the OS on a separate drive is generally recommended (for simplicity, ease of maintenance, flexibilty for reconfiguration, etc), and can also provide a performance boost of sorts -- reducing the amount of seeking to get to your temp/swap/local folders for example, and allowing greater concurrency of that access with your data access.

However, in this case, I think you might be better off allocating the fourth drive to the RAID array in order to boost the HD capture performance and if not just to get it up to the required speed, to give it additional headroom.
