Put US flag on or around our mail boxes?

I just realized I had a small US flag and I don't know where other to show my pride than put the flag on top or around my mailbox so that it's visible to everyone. It will be a tribute to those who lost their lives in the disaster and a reminder to Americans that America is a symbol of pride and freedom and a threat to the terrorists that we are a unified country and nothing NOTHING can break us apart. It will also serve as a reminder to people who would even dare steal packages etc from us as it has happened to me before. No one would dare to upset pride. Sounding too corny but that's what I feel right now!!!!!
 
Even tho I live in Alberta, Canada, and I am a Canadian, im thinking of putting an American flag up at work, just a small one... something that could sit on our counter or something.
