Should i put on some paste then wipe it off like Artic Silver's website says. Or should i just put it on the die?I dont have artic silver, just some genric paste. It is for a pentium 166. Thanks.
 
166? Spit on the thing, slap on the HSF and call it a day. 😉

Joking...

Just throw on some compound and slap the heatskink on. At that speed, cooling doesn't matter. (well very little)

At higher speeds... follow the instructions.
