put Raptor in my PC

QueBert

Lifer
popped one in, cloned my OS partition, didn't notice the bootup any faster. So I copied all the files from my winxp cd to my 320 gig drive, then I did the same to my Raptor. Also copied a 700 meg image on both. I didn't see it moving much faster. Maybe a few seconds faster on the Raptor. Nero's drive speed is reporting the xfer rate as about 65mb/s on my 320 & almost exactly the same on the raptor. I must be going crazy because I know this drive is a lot faster. I tried RAR'ing up the WinXP image with low conpression so it would be less CPU dependant, 4:45 on the 320 and 4:40 on the raptor. What would be some good benchmarks to run? I'm not physically noticing my system booting up any faster, and it doesn't feel any faster. I ran Photoshop on my 320, timed it (4 times) then uninstalled and installed it on the Raptor, load time was actually a second longer. I'm puzzled

awh I thought about that, but I've spent so much time tweaking my windows it would be a long task to get it back to it's current state. I figured a clone to a faster HD would speed everything up
