I'm not entirely sure how push works. The app will register (and run?) on some sort of Apple server in the cloud?

Will this mean Apple (or whomever is hosting this) will have to run an instance of the app for every user?

And then what, this message gets sent to your wireless provider, who then forwards it to your phone?

1) I HATE my wireless provider (only GSM provider in the country) and do not have faith in them to be able to complete this task.
2) What if they don't want to? They'll probably want to charge for this - ESPECIALLY if I'm not using an "iPhone" plan.

This is relying on your carrier's data plan, but it's all running through Apple's servers. I'm more worried about Apple's server than I am my carrier. We'll see, but I'm still unsure if they (Apple) have the backbone in place for this.
