push start and multiport efi

I will assume it is a manual transmission.

You would need at least enough power to run the fuel pump, or have enough pressure left in the lines to feed the engine.

Get a battery pack.
 
I'm no expert, but I think EFI engines need electricity to run.. not sure if the alternator can make that happens w/o a working batt.
 
I've done it before. I'm pretty sure you need a semi-working battery in it, but it doesn't need anywhere near the power that it would need to crank the engine.
 
Of course it is possible.

This is assuming that it is only the starter that is malfunctioning, though.

You may be able to start the car this way even with a dead battery, but it's going to depend.... I don't think you would be able to with most modern cars, but I could be wrong. Don't know if you could get the alternator spinning fast enough to generate enough power to work the electronics.

I've done it with several. Including a _very_ persnickity 1976 vintage BOSCH analogue multiport EFI.
