PUSH OUT Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6700 2.66GHz 1066MHz 8MB LGA775 EM64T CPU, OEM

I have this in my shopping cart, but I'm uncertain about what the PUSH OUT means, so I hope somebody out there could help me out please.

I have a retail stock cooler from a Q6700 I bought before that I don't need, so I don't mind the OEM part I suppose.

Looks like just another term for Clearance. You should be fine.

But why spend the extra $75 over a Q6600 for .26ghz?

The link from http://www.pricewatch.com/cpu/core_2_quad_q6700.htm has it as $219

the lowest for the Q6600 is $178

I figure $40 for a 65nm chip that will max out the motherboard (that's been laying around for a year) will be worth it because I'm not going to upgrade a chip for that board ever again. I already have a cooler so I save money there.

I'm putting 2 300GB Raptors in RAID 0 and thought it was a better match. I don't want to overclock, so it's as fast as I will be able to go with that quad core.

Isn't it worth it?

the only person who has to be happy with the purchase is you. but on the other hand our for sale forums here have a few people selling Q6600's for around $155 or lower which is much less.

I've heard of "pull", "used pull", "new pull", which means that the chip was built into a system, and then later removed and seperated for sale.

Never heard of "push" though.
