Push a wallpaper to 1000 users that are not on a domain I have control of.

Mixed OS -- 95,98,2K, XP.

800 Systems, (some are multiple users)

I need to push this wallpaper out to all of the systems. I do have an administrative account locally on all the systems, but the systems are spread over numerous domains.

Any thoughts on how I can accomplish this seemingly easy task?

Visit each and every workstation and change the wallpaper manually since you have a local admin account. Otherwise, get domain admin access and create a group policy that automatically sets the wallpaper on the XP and 2K machines.

Do they all have a certain homepage set that you have some control over? If so, you could do this via ActiveX.

Along the same lines, if your company uses Outlook or Outlook Express, you could probably create something to do this for you.

Email each user with attached wp and instructions for installing. Give them a deadline. If not met they get some sort of punishment -- or whatever.

Yeah, that seems like a good idea

I would hate to have to go around and install on 1k computers

I set up default accounts for win2k on about 100 machines, and that was plenty...
