'Push' a Powerpoint presentation to TV?

I'm not up-to-date on TVs, but i understand that they are now able install apps.

We are looking for a TV on which we can easily present Powerpoints. For ease of use we'd ideally like to be able to stream or send the presentation to the TV, without having to work with USB sticks, network shares, or however TVs are able to access files.

Is this possible and what TVs support this. A Skype app would be nice too...

Thanks.

Currently there are no smart TVs which have a Powerpoint app available, though Skype apps are pretty much commonplace. There is an upcoming Kickstart-funded product called the Pocket TV, due to enter the market around thesedays, which promises to transform any TV with an HDMI port into a smart TV that can take any android app. If the developing company executes well on their project then we might be looking at a real killer product here.

I think some of the high end sony and samsung tv's include Google TV that has access to the android market. There may be some apps available there that might be able to open ppt files. Unfortunately I think the support is going to be a hit or miss with these open source apps because none can fully convert the features from MS's office suite. You'll probably gonna have formatting issues and missing animations.

I know this isn't what you're looking for but the best bet right now is to hook a laptop to the tv and run all your applications from there.

I think there are apps out that can convert a ppt to an avi or other video file.

That may be your best bet.
