Purple dress shirts

I'm looking at the dress shirts for sale on a major retailer's website and I'm wondering who in their right mind would buy a purple dress shirt? You look like a giant grape wearing that thing.

I have a purple dress shirt with white stripes and a couple white dress shirts with purple stripes. It's not the shirt, it's the person wearing it. I make everything look good. And yes, I have a pink stripes dress shirt too.

LOL and some even wear pink. I even see skateboarders wearing pink shirts with kittens on it and stuff like that. Back when I was in school if someone wore something like that they would get beat up. Not that it was ok to do that, but it's what happened.

I thought of getting one and then getting purple buttons on it. It's school colors here. Purple and gold. Not all purples are equal.

Although I thought of just getting a gold colored shirt instead... Looks like I can be a duck fan while still wearing shit school colors, yo.

o noes... purple/pink shirts! The horror!

Jeeebus rocks em both, and looks good while doing so. Of course, I'm in South Florida, so I get a pass.

These I know I have in addition to a purple stripe one I can't find a picture of:

Those are fine, so I assume the OP meant something like this. Could be worse

i have a solid purple shirt and a solid pink shirt that is in my 18 or so shirt rotation i wear to work.

only thing i hate about it is that if i wear the purple shirt with black pants i feel like a ravens fan ... and i hate the ravens.

I have a purple dress shirt that I really like. I think it looks good with black dress pants.

This thread makes me realize how lucky I am I don't even need to wear dress shirts at work.

Heck I seen some of my coworkers even wear shorts. I feel odd doing that but if I see it's the norm, then awesome, I will too. The beauty of working in a laid back non customer facing building.

i used to be like that, and i am actually going to be like that again. i've only had to dress up the past 2.5 years at my current position.

to be honest i don't mind it one bit and actually like it. the only time i hate it though is during the summers when it's scorching hot and i have to be outside for a little bit when taking the train to work. but usually that is in the morning when it's not too hot.

i actually like 'looking professional' around here when going out to lunch and walking around. where i work there are a lot of professionals walking around in the general area, and it does make you feel different when dressed up. i don't know it's hard to explain until you've had to do it i guess.

and again, this is coming from somewhere i could wear shorts/t-shirt to in the summertime, for over 5 years.

but when i go to my next job in a couple weeks, can't say that i'm going to miss dressing up lol.

I have a 1:30 p.m. hearing in Miami today. It's a few blocks from the parking lot to the courthouse, full suit and tie, in 90 degrees. Just thinking about it is making me sweat.

I tend to wear more blue and white then anything, but i have no issues wearing a pink/purple tie or shirt. I guess if you are not comfortable with your self then maybe.

I have a nice pink shirt. Seriously, only in America guys are so insecure about what's effeminate or not. My ex-boss who does local MMA and knock guys out wear pink too.

You probably wouldn't like my bright purple underwear then. Talk about grapes ...
